Central Americans now receive special treatment over other migrants, including Mexicans. Such exceptions have enticed abuses of our immigration system, and have led to the current influx of migrants at our southern border.

The Protection of Children Act helps end this cycle. Introduced by Sen. Jeff Sessions and Sen. Ron Johnson, it mandates the same procedures for every minor regardless of their country of origin. Further, it requires all minors who are not victims of trafficking, or do not qualify for asylum, to be quickly returned to their home countries.

Current policy is neither fair or humane. It encourages a dangerous journey which includes the very real risk of violence, abuse, and sexual assault for minor children and others.
