I have bad news regarding HB1268/SB1298 Parental Rights Bill. Rep. Womick called me last night to inform me that our bill got a whopping $38 million Fiscal Note attached to it (this is what they do when they want a bill to be killed) for the first year and $6 million for several years thereafter. I have attached a copy of the Fiscal Note. You can call Sen. Lamar Alexander and thank him for lying to the people of America when he said education is now returned to the states. This Fiscal Note is a direct effect of ESSA pushed by Sen. Alexander. Many did not want to see the parental rights bill passed so they tack on huge Fiscal Notes so the bill never sees the light of day.
PARENTS we only have one choice at this point and that is to join the rest of American parents for a massive I REFUSE THE TEST event in Tennessee. Last year New York had a 20% OPT OUT/REFUSE rate state-wide and they expect it to be higher this year. Some schools in NY had an 80% OPT OUT/REFUSE rate. It truly is the only power we have at this point. But it can be done and we can let them know we WILL NOT COMPLY with their unconstitutional mandates that override parental authority. Are you aware that the federal government is now your partner is raising your kids? Well ESSA says so and again you can thank Sen. Alexander because since as early as 1989 he came right out and said American parents have no idea what is going on in the world or what is going on with our kids.
PLEASE go to tnacc.net under the TN ACTION Tab to find the OPT OUT/REFUSE form and instructions created by the Thomas More Law Center. I pray that you will start organizing with parents and OPT OUT/REFUSE the TNReady test. I suggest you check all the blocks on the form and OPT OUT of all the ways that allow them to collect massive amounts of data on our children that WILL be shared. It is our hope to get at MINIMUM 10% OPT OUT state-wide. The school will threaten, intimidate and tell you cannot do it. WE need to stand strong on this issue. If enough parents stand up for their parental rights they will have no choice but to do as we want. The federal government has no right to mandate that the state must test 95% of its students.
