Montclair Protest of the Reproductive Freedom Act - Saturday, March 20, 10 am

What: Support our Protest of the NJ Reproductive Freedom Act
Where: Montclair Municipal Building, 205 Clairemont Ave., Montclair
When: This Saturday, March 20, 10-12 am

The Montclair City Council adopted a RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE PASSAGE OF THE NEW JERSEY REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOM ACT (S3030/A4848), on January 21, 2021, the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. It is the first municipality in NJ to involve itself in supporting this egregious bill. Mayor Spiller is also the Vice-President of the NJ NJEA.

Last October, Democrats in the NJ Legislature, along with Planned Parenthood and "Thrive NJ" introducted a radical abortion bill, the "Reproductive Freedom Act", that would further expand NJ's already radical abortion laws.

S3030/A4848 (AKA, The Freedom to Kill Act) would allow non-physicians to perform first-term abortions. It would remove the "conscience" clause for medical workers to object to participating in the procedure, and would mandate annual allocation of taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood under Title X in the state budget. Taxpayer dollars would even be extended to young girls and women brought here by human traffickers, as abortion and even sterilization would be funded, even if the women were from outside of NJ or in the country illegally. It would remove the ability to prosecute women who contribute to the death of their infant, through either neglect or a deliberate act.

The Montclair resolution begins, "WHEREAS, COVID-19 has highlighted that comprehensive and appropriate healthcare is not affordable and accessible for all residents of all communities throughout our State." It supports "supports the foundation required for everyone who can become pregnant, including women, transgender, non-binary and gender non-confirming people, to be able to exercise their right to control their bodily autonomy and personal decision-making and receive the care needed to create their families or choose not to, without barriers, fear or interference".

It further states, " In New Jersey, financial, geographical, and provider barriers to reproductive healthcare impact Black communities and people of color, low income people, immigrants and LGBTQ individuals disproportionally." In truth, a disproportionate percentage of abortions in NJ are performed on women of color.

In addition, regulations currently in the approval process by the NJ Board of Medical Examiners would expand the ability of providers of "fetal tissue" to obtain and sell "body parts", as exposed several years ago by David Daleiden, in his undercover videos of conversations with executives of Planned Parenthood. To date, no one except Daleiden has been prosecuted. It is fetal tissue, not the abortion procedure itself, which provides the lion's share of funding to Planned Parenthood in NJ and across the nation. NJ has the 2nd highest abortion rate in the nation, second to Washington DC - which makes it a particular focus of companies like Stem Express, that find NJ such a "fertile" market for their "products".

Come join us in protesting the involvement of a municipality in supporting the State's attempts to expand our already radical abortion laws.

  •  So sickening. Will plan to go if I feel up to it. Am at Planned Parenthood in Shrewsbury every Saturday 9am, praying the rosary with some 13-20 other prayer warriors.
